Out of state dealer lists a car for sale, but tells you they already have a deposit on it.Two weeks later the car is still being advertised at the same sale price. Is this a dealer that doesn't want to do business out of state, or a immick to sell you a higher priced car?
I called a dealer about an advertised, under market price, car. I was told they had a deposit on the car. Two weeks later the car is still being advertised. Is this a gimmick?
sometimes it takes a little time to get delivered, and they won't pull the ad until it is actually delivered. If there is any doubt, call and ask for sales and see if it is still available. If it is out of state I would also get a copy of either Autocheck report or Carfax to protect yourself. I hope this helps.
Thank you for the information.
What Richard said is especially true when dealer is using automatic software to add (and delete) vehicles from their website. If it's sold but not yet delivered, then the vehicle will still show as available until the customer actually takes delivery of the vehicle. Someday there may be a way to move these cars into a "sale pending" mode, but I'm not aware of it at this point.
Thank you for the information
