power window does not go down what is wrong with it?

the switch works, when you push down the switch for the power window the window goes down but stays down.

Sounds like a regulator problem. The window may be off-track, or the switch may not work for the UP function. If the window goes down, the motor is OK, because DC motors simply reverse current to get the reverse operation.

I think littlehorn is accurate.. possible that the regulator/motor may be on the fritz. Have it looked at by a service station or call a local Chevrolet Dealer for a professional opinion

lrear drliver side window is about 2 inches from top of being closed completely. switch needs to be replaced im guessing .Push button on either switch console or door and nothing happens.
