I have a 1996 Buick skylark 4 cylinder

I go to start my car and sometimes it starts
smoothly and at times it starts rough, and I can't
go to a driver threw cuz it will run rough and now it
shut offs whenever it wants at it start up most of
time but I have put my foot on the gas to the floor
and if I'm. On the highway it drives great but in
town and have to slow down alot it shakes and
runs rough... And at times if I have to reverse I have
to put my foot on gas and brake... What is it???
