transmission wont move when put in gear push gas but hardly wont move

seems to shift gears ok but just will not move the first time it moves for the day

Have you checked the fluid in the transmission? It is a 9 year old car, and has it been serviced? Have that checked. Sounds like it is low on fluid with what you are saying.
