When your car suddenly just stops, there should be a check engine light on the dash board, and you can get the code read by an ODBII reader if you have one, or take the car to AutoZone and they will read the code for free. There are many reason why you car can just stops when driving. My 2006 Nissan Sentra did the same thing for months. It was very frustrating because it was and intermittent problem, and the code the car's computer gave off wasn't the exact reason. The initial code was a bad throttle body, but when the throttle body was replaced, the car did the same thing. You problem could be a faulty Camshaft or Crankshaft sensor that fails when it gets hot. If your car is going into 'Safe Mode' where the car is still running but the car won't go above about 1000 rpm then it's not likely a fuel pump problem. Diagnostic work takes some iterations before the problem is found. Good luck.
