Question type: General

I have a 1999 tracker 4x4 auto.  There is a switch one the left side of auto trans lever, it has a n on top a/t in middle and the word power on the bottom and when I switch it to power a light also comes on in the dash that says power.  Thanks.

Hi edbike! That switch controls the rpm shift points of the automatic transmission. In the power position it lets the engine wind up a bit longer before shifting to get you more power for on ramp acceleration, off road needs, traction needs, etc.. In the other (economy) position it upshifts sooner to help you be more fuel efficient. Hope that helps!

The switch on the left side of the automatic transmission lever in your 1999 Tracker operates a power mode. When switched to "Power," a light on the dash with the word "Power" illuminates. https://smartlivingandtechnology.com/
