Is the water pump housed with the timing chain?

Asked by Mar 28, 2013 at 02:36 AM about the 1999 Chevrolet Prizm 4 Dr LSi Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1 Answer

Not really, the timing chain is behind the water pump, which must be removed to get to the timing chain. Another perspective is to say it is not necessary to remove the timing chain housing to replace the water pump. 1998–2002 Chevy Prizms were equipped with Toyota's 1.8 L 1ZZ-FE I4 engine
