Struts???

Asked by Msaez Apr 20, 2016 at 11:15 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet Lumina LS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car makes a very loud noise when we go
over bumps. It's the rear driver side. We
think it's the strut but the mechanic said it's
the frame. While in park I was able to
"wiggle" the tire....but the other tires I
couldn't! Please help!!

It doesn't make a noise while driving only when I go over bumps (speed bump especially)

A reputable mechanic will be willing to put it up on a lift and show you. Try asking one to do it and get an estimate than you'll know instead of guessing.
