Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1986 Camry. Does not have brake lights. "rear lights" indicator does not light
up until I apply brake. Pulled stop (brake) light switch and it seems to have
continuity. Bridged connector with a wire which should have caused brake
lights to stay on. Stop light fuse is good. What else can I check?

After looking at a wiring diagram, I traced the problem to the "light failure sensor" located above the RR wheel well mounted to a support in the trunk. Barely visible, didn't even know it was there. Found another one @ a wrecking yard for $2 and back in business.
