My 2005 clk 320 won't start, it won't turn over
wen key is placed in ignition it won't turn...like everything is locked... the door
are unlocked but ed eject won't and the trunk won't open.
distastful as it seems, we have to tend to the Battery...first off these stop taking a charge after ten years old....secondly corrosion develops at these high-amperage connections...and really should be wire-brushed clean...use no baking soda...rinse and re-assemble...the cables possibly have been attacked by the battery "sweating" ACID over everything~ so a Hearty Electrical connection...one that can draw 50 amps...connection to the MOTOR is a critical one too~ I hope the actual ENGINE is Not locked~ we could check by turning the main crank bolt...if it turns...we're okay yet~
Try a jump start. If it works that way, then it is the battery or battery connections are corroded. If you have a bad cell in the battery it will charge but quickly lose the charge to turn over the engine. Your accessories will work, but not start the car. If the jump start will not turn over the engine, have the starter checked, and also the fuses to the starter.
