transmission has difficulty shifting from first gear & has hard time hauling, why?

My transmission have been having hard time shifting from the first gear up for the last 2
month ( intermittently) & today it just didnt have the power to tow my trailer. what could be
the problem?

Matthew the transmission is dieing a slow, lingering death. The once nice pink fluid is now all brown and stinky. Those crisp clean shifts are a now a thing of the past. RIP the transmission is dead. Long live the transmission.
