Car will not run

Asked by GuruTTDS2 Jun 19, 2018 at 12:40 PM about the 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have a 2000 Chevy Cavalier that my daughter went off the road and down
an embankment and car ended up resting on its side. We righted the car,
pulled it home.  Tried to start the car the other day and it will not start.  You
can hear the fuel pump prime and shutoff, but when you turn it over it will not
start.  Took off the air hose leading to the throttle body and sprayed starting
fluid and turned the key and it started.  If you spray a continues stream of
starting fluid into the throttle body it will run until you stop spraying.  Is there
an inertia switch on this year of Cavalier that would prevent it from starting
like normal?     If not, what would I need to check to see what is preventing it
from starting as normal?

disconnect the battery . theres a shut-off , went a car hits hard ... and, put a obd code reader on your cavalier....ok. or try some starting fluid, into the carb. a few times ? might restart..... good luck........
