truck runs fine all day, shut it off and it will start fine the next day and no
troubles.  go start it a day or so later and you have to boost it to get it started.
starts to take it out of garage but won't start to put it back in a couple of hours
later.

Not much information to go on, but when you say you have boost it to get it to start after sitting for a while, then that would indicate you have a bad battery or a parasitic draw. Take it to a parts store and get the charging system tested (it's free at most stores). If battery, regulator, and alternator test good, then you'll have to look for a parasitic draw on the battery.
