Defroster not working

My heater blows but won't switch off of vents!
Can't get it to go to the floor or defrost and the ac
compressor kicks on with it on heat.any ideas what
that might b?

I think it's all electric! I've already replaced the blend door actuator! And that didn't fix it!

I have the same problem. I replaced the blend door as well and still no defrost. Mine also makes a ticking sound when i start the truck. Still not sure what to do.

The ticking sound is from the blend door actuator... the teeth on one of gears are stripped off... You can purchase a new one, or do the same thing I did... as when you open the little actuator up, you will see that it only uses one side of the gears... I simply switched it 180°, gave it new teeth to run on, and it's still working after 3 years.
