Won’t start. 02 Dodge Ram 4.7 1500 4x4

Asked by 805Albert Dec 31, 2017 at 01:35 PM about the 2002 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I got my heads shaved of cause overheated. At
the end I got engine all put back together. And my
truck knocking. As I was told wrist pin. At the end
got a another used motor. I was told it was a
working motor. So ended up putting new spark
plugs, used my old coil packs fuel spider, intake
from the other engine cause I knew they worked.
After the swap my truck won’t turn on. Codes came
up and said cam and crank sensors.  bought new
cam and crank shaft sensor. Still nothing. My buddy
checked and said not getting fuel pressure. It may
be the fuel regulator which is inside fuel tank. Is this
something that makes sense? Anything else it can
be? Greatly appreciate in advance. I’m no
mechanic. I’m a carpenter and tired of spending
money on maybes.. I don’t see how that could be
when I shaved heads on old engine at first we got
truck running but was knocking. Engine from2003

idk- this truck has had an engine transplant by someone who claims "I'm no mechanic" that's like getting a new heart by someone who claims "I'm no surgeon" What could go wrong?! ANYTHING

Having said that, I do have some sympathy because I am a poor person, too- so here's some advice: these 21st Century vehicles are not like the old trucks- you can't just start doing major surgery because they are much more complicated than say, a '64 Chevy Truck- ah, those were the days- at this point i would say cut your losses and put the money toward something that's running-
