When weather turns cold and a car has trouble starting or just on cold mornings, that's usually a sign of a bad or weak battery. Get it tested. if the battery's OK, it could be defective cables or loose/dirty connections. Beyond the battery, it could be a faulty fuel pump or starter motor that's too weak to overcome cold.

Also check the coolant temperature sensor. If it's not sending the correct temperature signal to the computer there may be too much or too little fuel going to the cylinders on a cold start. Hope that helps! Jim

I don't think it's the weather truck does the same thing in warm weather it's only when the engine is cold in general

That sure sounds like a sensor misread. ECT and ACT will both give you problems when the engine is cold. Live data scanner should show what each sensor shows compared to actual temperature. Only do this test on a cold engine

You're welcome. Glad to help. With the temperature gauge on the dash not working too that's a good clue that something is going on with the coolant temperature sensor. Jim
