I have a 96 Dodge Ram 1500 that leaks fuel only when its the weather is hot. Leak appears to be coming from top of the tank. What could be the cause of this?

Either you have a small hole from rust or the gasket at the top where the fuel pump is found went bad. I think your going to have to drop the tank to find your problem.
