Just replaced key cylinder and car won't start
Is the key chipped? Look at the hilt of the old key and see if it has PK3 stamped into it. If it does then the new key will have to be programmed to the car. Does it try to turn over?
Unless this is a retired police car you have a transponder key. The new key that came with the replacement lock cylinder will not start the car until it's programmed to the car. Check with your local Chevrolet dealer. I believe that your car is under factory recall for this. Either way you'll need to have them program the new keys to the car. HTH. -Jim
Not true my 2003 and my 2005 do not have transponder keys. The security works some I'm not sure how.
