We just put a used motor in my 1998 ford f 150 and it went down the road about a mile and came back and shut off and wouldn't start back up
We took a motor out of our 1998 ford f150 replaced it with a used motor and we went down the road about a mile came back and it won't even turn over
I'd look at ground connections from the battery to the chassis ground...unbolt and wirebrush that location and lug...be sure there is sufficient NEGATIVE power to the ignition coil~
if you mean the motor "locked up" there is nothing that we can do...what did you forget to check the oil level? the coolant level? if it still turns...okay, but perhaps the battery is older than five and dead now~
Check and make sure you did not forget to install a heat shield somewhere. Sounds like something electrical is getting heat soaked. Were any creative exhaust system modification required? If the vehicle will restart when it cools down look for a high heat source and close by electrical component.
