Truck shut off
My 1997 Ford F-150 v8 4.6 cut off while
driving with smoke coming out then I drove
to store after getting it cranked put two
quarts of oil cause it was low drove home
with a clacking noise going on and it cut
off again as I was turning the corner. Now
it won't start at all any suggestions?
You may have a rod knock from running the engine low on oil or the engine may have seized up. I think it is time for a new engine. Bummer.
Crankshaft won't turn
Can it be Pistons or anything to do with crankshaft?
Check your dip stick to see if you have water in the oil you may have a cracked block
No water on the dipstick
Engine has seized if you can not turn crank, more than likely warped crank and or head and valves from low oil.
Try or check into the air conditioning pump. One time my car stopped just like that, I sold it for 150.00 and the person went out to "his" new car and cut the air cond. belt and drive it home.
I agree with the first answer, sounds like main bearing went and threw a rod.
Frozen main bearing due to lack of lubrication
