My 93 F150 door light stays on continually.

Asked by Guru9VB1Z1 Apr 13, 2021 at 09:12 PM about the 1993 Ford F-150 XL 4WD LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 93 F150 door light stays on continually. The plunger switch is working to
turn the "door ajar" dinging  off, but when all doors are closed the door light
stays on. What can I check as a possible cause?
The battery keeps draining and I suspect this is the reason.

Remove the switch and inspect the wires going to the switch. Sounds like you have a bare spot on one of the wires that's touching something metal and keeping the light on. Hope that helps! Jim
