Chevy Malibu humming sound increases with road speed?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Have a 2004 Chevy Malibu. Just got the axle seals and transmission seals replaced
because of significant leaking. After the replacement the transmission issues (sluggish,
slow shifting) disappeared. However, a new symptom has appeared. As road speed
increases, a humming/roaring sound is heard under the car. Any thoughts as to what this
may be?

did you have the tires rotated? the shop should swap them back free to find out if thats the problem
I did not have the tires rotated. I have had tire issues on a different car. The noise sounds more centrally located.
Sounds like the cv axles were either damaged or not seated correctly.
wheel bearings could be worn.. bad hub(s)
is it the bearings that go into the trans??
05 Chevy Malibu Base 2.2L Automatic I have the very same issue and question... After replacing transmission filter and fluid the sound comes from somewhere halfway down the mid part of the engine, yet it is hard to determine, feels like the rough humming sound comes from a bit to the right part of engine. The sound starts pass 30 mph acceleration and on until it gets sort of neutralized by the engine noise. Thinking that there is not enough or too much of transmission fluid does not sound right, yet it is possible. No leaks. Hub bearings problem is not it - had that before and the sound and area where it comes from is not the same/not similar. Anyone.? Thank you for troubleshooting/fix ideas and suggestions.
