2004 impala only starts and runs when gas pedal is pushed but dies when let off
my car will crank but wont start but when i hold gas pedal in and it runs as long as i hold gas soon as i let off gas it dies ive tried fuel pump maf sensor map sensor throttle postion sensor made no difference then car works fine for a couple day and will do the same thing
How about fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator or fuel injectors? Also and maybe first thing, look at the throttle plate (butterfly) itself. Make sure its clean. If not clean it well with carb cleaner.
Oh, good call T_S_T!
Just to add to my buddy TA77,answer,thought of two thing,s,,The IAC,and the crank sensor, will do this on the impala. And hello,, TA.
What's going on T_S_T?
Nothing much Ta, hows it going for you, just chiling trying to help a few people out with there problem,s,,same as you : )
Not bad, not bad. Freezing my a$$ off though. Just took my dog out its about 22. Not ready for this cold this fast.
Lmao,yea i here ya,only 32 here,but dropping fast.
did you find a solution? I have the same problem to
Hey Dana, its going to be the fuel pressure regulator, throttle plate probably needs to be cleaned too. Start with the throttle plate first.
Awsome! Thanks TransAm77 I will clean it and report back.
Ok sounds good.
I am having a similar type issue, however My 2000 Impala does not rough idle. It turns over and as long as my foot is on the gas it runs, the moment I take my foot off the gas it stalls. I am currently replacing the fuel filter. The fuel pump was replaced a year ago, I am going to clean the throttle body next but I am unsure if I am really needing to do this or if there is something else I should be doing. I'll be damned if I take this car back to the shop just so it can break down again ( thinking my impala is a lemon it has been in the shop more than I have been driving it)
