change the thermosta on 2004 chevrolet impala bc it was running hot..once i put in a new thermostat now when i cranked it up it is making a high idling noise which i'm scared to drive bc of the noise
Sounds like you may have a bad Idle Air Control valve. Try unplugging your EGR. See if the high idle drops.
If it's the 3.8L V6, check your vacuum lines. Make sure that none got broken during the repair and that they're all hooked up correctly. A vacuum leak will cause a high idle and the vacuum hose multi-connector on the intake manifold has to come off to get to the thermostat on the 3.8s. HTH. -Jim
