I am unable to start a1990 Toyota Corolla using only a high amp 110V battery charger. When a dead battery is used in conjunction with the charger the engine only then turns over rapidly, but will not start. The car ran great a few months ago before the battery issue. Did I damage the electirical system by First, using Only the Charger without being connected to the battery? I'm perplexed, any ideas?

PS- The battery charger's supply power is 110 V A/C and the output power that I connected to the car's terminals was 12 Volt D/C.

That never works, it usually winds up burning something out, so first check all of the fuses, those under the hood and inside, if you don't find any blown then I would let the pros handle it, hopefull it didn't burn out the main processor.
