2004 Camry will not shift out of park,
Car will start. Break lights will not work and car will not shift out of park. Have
checked the fuses and replaced they brake light switch under the dash,
touching the break pedal. thanks
Check the wiring harness in the left Trunk Hinge area. This is an area known to be a problem on some Camry's. The wires break then short causing a blown fuse.
If the wires and fuse check out good, you may also have a bad brake pedal switch. Check to make sure that when you hit the brake pedal, all of the brake lights are illuminating. I believe if the center brake light is burned out in the back window, that will also stop the car from going into gear.
