Yes all lights and guages work.knocking coming from passenger side next to serpentine belt and alternator. Yes a little low on oil but only took about a quart. We think alternator is dying but not 100%

Its stuck at work tonight but I work next to a shop I will ask them. I don't trust any shops as my family got taken a few times for some good amounts of money. Wanted to narrow it down so thanks for the help. I will write back in if there is still no solution by end of day tomorrow

Before ANYBODY attempts to start this vehicle to analyze this "knocking"....you might want to pull the Engine dipstick and check quantity....quality.....and color of the engine oil. Does it smell like gasoline? If yes....do not start the engine.

My 2004 toyota camry xle died while I was driving and when I went to start it it took longer to start and I heard a knocking do yall think it's the rod in the engine or the time chain or could it just be one of the pulleys gone out I'm scared to drive it to my uncles from where it's at

Suggest you repair the brakes. That repair may eliminate that noise you are hearing and make this vehicle a lot safer to drive. Get back to us with an update.
