Fan noise

Asked by SMG720 Jun 05, 2008 at 08:56 AM about the 2006 Chevrolet HHR LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When using the AC or Heater, the fan makes a noise (on low)sometimes louder than others.
Almost sounds like there is something inside the fan is hitting. How would I look at the fan to see what is there?
Would the owners manual for a Cobalt be the same for an HHR?

In order to visually inspect the fan and motor you would more than likely have to remove your passenger glove box and possibly a portion of the lower dash as well. However, if its already making noise it's probably going bad already.
