Over heating losing water

Tempature games only worked part of the time car
was running hot, changed thermostat, fixed faces,
and check engine light went off, but car is still
losing water and running hot..what can I check
next..?

You need to determine where the leak is. If there are no external leaks (visible leaking onto the ground or in the passenger compartment, then it must be an internal engine leak. Check the oil; if it is white or milky you have a head gasket leak. Also check the tailpipe for white smoke. This also indicates an internal engine leak (same think possible blown head gasket).

    2010 hhr idle ok( does not over heat) drive down the road it runs hot. Heater works great. Fan comes on at 210 ish . Changed thermostat( because when drove last no heat). Fluids are topped off
