I own a 1985 Corvette Coupe. I locked the keys in the car. How can I open the car?
1. Slim-jim 2. lock smith 3. strong wire to try to hook the keys and retrieve them from the window separation from the top if possible. 4. Rock to the window. Corvettes are a top item for people to steal, so GM has tried to discourage inexperienced car thieves from gaining access to the vehicle. That said, there may be a block on the door to prevent a slim-jim from working. A locksmith will have a master key or have to pull the lock and replace it once the car is opened. A rock or hammer to the window will get you inside, but in the winter, unless you have a heavy coat and the heater is strong, you'll need to fix the window quickly. If the lock smith tells you pulling the lock may damage the fiberglass on the door, I'd go the broken window route. This is why I always keep a spare key hidden inside my car.
