that owns or owned a corvette lm looking at a 92
corvette with 85000 miles on it 5.7 6sp what
should I look for
Don't buy it. Electrical problems are common. The computer controls everything & they are no longer made. Any bad ground or sensor will leave you stranded.
Thanks went to look at it thing was krapp thanks for your feedback
Take what you were willing to pay for it and move either up or down. An older vehicle, will need money to keep it going, no matter what year, condition or milage. Parts wear out, deteriorate, or just go bad. Even new vehicles have issues. First look at the milage, wear, body condition and interior condition. Low milage and inside shows a lot of wear? Milage has been tampered with. Tires show and tell an lot. Need shocks, out of alignment or balance? Someone that neglected the car. Low milage and showroom condition? Ask why the sale? Just like you did here, do the homework. go to the Chevy dealer that does a lot of Corvette work and see if there is good replacement parts for the electrical parts. That always seems to be the Achilles tendon on modern cars now-a-days. If you are good or even a fair mechanically inclined person, understand you will need something to remove grease from you hands as you will maintain it a lot. Just like a wife. Takes money, but the rewords are great.
Thanks for the info but turns out the car was a piece of krap so of course I didn't buy it
If you are looking to buy a Corvette, and you know of a Corvette Club or member, that is a place to start. They know the Corvettes, usually are well maintained, but will need to talk them down to reality on the price. If you like it, has good maintain reputation, and the price is right, welcome to the fun of owning a Corvette.
