Can I replacr the transmission from a 2003 Subaru
Legacy onto a 2003 Suabru Impreza RS (manual),
without any problems?

Check http://opposedforces.com/parts/ for the legacy trans and see what the interchange is on that trans. You could also check the impreza trans and see what it says there (for kicks?)
