99 Forester steers really hard
99 Forester steers really hard I put a 97 outback pump on it still steers
hard???? The 99 pump has a wire going to it and the 97 has no wire going to
it..but both pumps act same way???
Maybe it is something else, like ball joints or steering knuckles, could even be a failure in the steering racks valving.
Try adding some Lucas Power Steering stop leak it not only stops leaks but also corrects hard steering.
If it is valving in rack is it fixable or do I have to get new rack??
It is, but by the time you fix just the valves you have spent enough to buy another rack assembly. And with a replacement rack you get a warranty, something you would not get repairing the valving.
Sounds like $$$$$$$
You should try the Lucas first worked great on a vehicle my friend owned as soon as he added it to his power steering the hard steering was gone. I am telling you it is worth a try.
Should I drain reservoir and fill completely with Lucas or just mixx it??
If you have somethings like a old turkey baster or take a old spray bottle sprayer and put the straw end into power steering reservoir and spray most of fluid out of the reservoir into a container then fill with the Lucas.
I will try..thank for all the quick answers..
