Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My transmission fluid is full and my filter is
new but when it gets hot my automatic
transmission gets hard to shift into any gear
but when it is cold it shifts fine

1 Answer

Mine is finiky too. Oil level is critical. To much is worse than a little low. Put a level on the pan in both directions before you start. Jack as necessary to get it level. Start it and bring to operating temperature and carefully check by holding the brake and slowly switching into all gears then back to park. Place a pan underneath and remove the top plug and let any fluid that will run out drain, then replace the plug. Test drive and compare the results.
