how much would a rebuild of bottom end of a 3400 out of 99 grand am gt cost?

Asked by zac1994 May 10, 2013 at 01:10 PM about the 1999 Pontiac Grand Am 2 Dr GT Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 99 Grand Am GT from what I was told it was a spun rod bearing so I was wondering how much it would cost to rebuild bottom end with out labor costs or if I should just get one out of scrap yard

Call around for repair/replace estimates in your area. The 3400 V6 is a common GM engine and many shops know how to repair them. Check the scrap yard to see if there are any available. If it is cheaper to replace, there won't be many to buy. -- Check in with the other owners on GAOwnersClub.com
