Speedometer needle is stuck

Asked by GuruM5LCW May 13, 2020 at 01:32 PM about the 1994 Pontiac Grand Am 2 Dr SE Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Temp gauge and Fuel gauge work just fine, however speedometer needle
seems loose. You can see a bit of space in between where other needles are
snug tight. I took top of dashboard off and slid my hand inside to try to push it
back in place but that doesn't seem to be helping at all. I cant easily locate
my speedometer cable either to see if that may be a cause. I cant find much
about my specific car at all online.

You will probably need to disassemble your dash and remove the cluster that holds the gauge. Once you have the gauge free, you might be able to push the needle back into position. If that doesn't work, look around Ebay for a working gauge and replace yours with another and then reassemble the dash.
