Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I started my 2003 Lincoln town car up this mornning
and on my way to work the gears felt like they were
slipping. In order to accelerate the car I had to
feather the gas and once I reached 35MPH the rpm
was slipping. I got my car to work and when I got
off I got half way home when I stopped at a stop
sign and then tried to accelerate the car would not
move but my engine would rev up. Where do I start.

Check the fluid level and then look for a top notch transmission shop or better yet get a Ford factory rebuilt.

Check trans fluid: after shifting through gears set ebrake leave car running in Neutral. From what u said the stick will probably be dry if u cant do simple fluid maintenance have it towed to shop. The price for tow is nothing compared to new or rebuilt trans replacement expecting it's not already to late.
