1999 Lincoln Town Car Stalls and will not restart after reaching operating temperature.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello all. I have a 1999 Lincoln Town Car (4.6L V8, 4spd Auto) with 209,000 miles.
The vehicle starts normally and will run fine until it reaches operating temperature
on the temperature gauge. After this, the engine will cut out, all the lights will
come on in the gauge cluster and if I go to try and start the car again, it will only
crank infinitely as if the fuel pump were bad or as if it were getting no spark. Once
I let it sit for a few minutes, however, it will start right back up. If I put it in gear and
go forward or backward a bit the same thing will happen and it won't come back
on for a few minutes. No check engine lights are on at all. I can also confirm
100% that the car is NOT overheating. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!!!

*****Also to add, if I keep my foot on the gas as it's on once it reaches operating temperature, it will NOT stall. However, after letting my foot off for a few seconds the engine will cut out as mentioned previously*****

I think it is time for you to scan for codes. Autozone does it for free where I live. Since your idiot light is coming on, there is a good chance of a helpful stored code for something like TPS, a MAF sensor or some such.
