Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had my jeep go into limp mode about 3 weeks ago. I had it taken into the
shop and they replaced a transmission filter due to there being a tsb out for
the codes that the computer gave. about a week after that i had the same
problem with the same codes. Since then i have not had the problem or the
codes. Both times i did, i had just gotten in, turned the key, and tried to go.
RPMs went to about 3000 and tranny stuck in 3rd gear. Since then, I have let
it "warm up" for 10-20 seconds before trying to go. Everything has been fine.
Should I be worried about anything? it seems to shift well and drive well. The
codes were p0700 and p0876. Again, the only times it did this were when it
was cold and I hadn't let the vehicle warmup at all after starting it.

You shouldn't have to warm it up although here in Minnesota we warm everything up during winter. Double check to make sure they used the correct transmission fluid, it makes a huge difference. If the problem is still there I would bet the front pump in your trans is tired but may work for a long time. I hope this helps take care

am in minnesota haha. and I haven't noticed a problem since starting to do that. Trans pump makes sense to me, almost seems like its not getting up to pressure as fast as it should be.

You got it. Try putting some TransX in it . It worked good in my truck that was doing about the same thing. Stay warm skoal
