Help!! Engine running way too rich jeep 4.0

Asked by Daniel Sep 29, 2018 at 07:21 PM about the 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've had it with this thing. Motor burnt up from a
bad computer throwing to much gas in a cylinder.
Complete rebuild and bore, new computer, fuel
pump, plugs, and so much more. It was running
great and passed inspection. Today the jeep
started shaking and the engine light came on and
started flashing. It's throwing a code for massive
misfire in 6th cylinder. I pulled the plugs and they
are all black. There is less than 1k miles since
rebuild and new plugs. I really hope I haven't burnt
it up again. Going to do a compression test soon.
Any ideas??

I have a question my I have a 2007 Suzuki XL-7 . I need this rubber part not sure what’s it’s called. It’s under the hood where water would drain from . I just need to know what the black rubber drain is called.

Check for a clogged air cleaner. Then check fuel pressure at the injector rail, there is a Schrader valve hook up. Be looking for about 60 psi. If too high, your fuel pressure regulator is located inside the fuel filter (two in one) in front of the gasoline tank above the rear differential. Don't worry about another "burn up" but excess gas dilutes lubrication and you should change oil soon after you have it fixed. It will be okay. It's the best engine Jeep ever made.
