Tire size for larger wheels

I have a 2002 Gr. Cherokee with stock (16") rims and tires. I have purchased late-model Wrangler 17" rims to replace. What size tires do I need, or how large or small will fit properly??  Thanks.

a stock WJ will not fit tires over 29.5".

the metric size will be around a 245/65/17 i think
