my 2000 jeep grand cherokee has the check engine light glowing what is wrong

Take it to a parts store or a repair shop and they will scan the engine codes. Write down the code number. They can tell you what part has failed.

Went to autozone and they used their scan tool and found that there is a 601 code . Now that I have a 601 code reading what does that mean ? Maybe I shouuld give you a little history . I replaced the motors, the motor that was in the car blew a rod and had 143,000 the new motor has 114,000 and is from a wrecked car ,both motors are 4.7 L, V8's with the [N] as the 8th. didget, hope this helps
