Low gears in the rear axle (for towing) are also good for fast take off. Higher gears are good for top speed but not take off. You could look for a 5 or 6 speed manual.

You need more power, not another transmission to get what you want. What is the engine speed at 60mph in top gear?

at 60 it just shifts into 4th. it's an automatic, but I want a manual. i just don't like my first gear because it shifts in to 2nd at 13 mph

Your best bet is to get a different truck. If you want a fast truck get a later model performance model 1/2 ton. Yours is a HD work truck.
