Fuel issue

Asked by F7sledneck Feb 07, 2018 at 11:03 AM about the 2000 GMC Sierra 2500 2 Dr SL 4WD Standard Cab LB HD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have a 2000 gmc k2500 with the 5.7. Just changed
the fuel pump and fuel filter. It ran great for roughly
2 hours then began to spit and sputter and backfire
through the intake. Barely limped it home wouldn’t
go over 2000 rpm. Now it will not start at all and no
pressure at the shrader valve but plenty of pressure
right off of the fuel pump itself. What would cause
this

Checked filter and didn’t do the relay, would I still have pressure at the pump if it was a relay though?

Yeah the line was kinked a little and we replaced the line and all seems well now, thanks for the info though
