Asked by NotAlwysoBlonde Mar 05, 2018 at 11:33 AM about the 2004 GMC Envoy XL SLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Won't start without jump / complete loss of
power / power is there then it's not -  battery
not charging message / when it is running it
isn't charging all the time so won't stay
running - changed alternator, changed
battery

Try your question on forums.trailvoy.com, I see several topics on this. If battery and alternator are good (and have been properly load tested) problem may lie in harness connections at back of alternator. It always good maintenance to check all wire connections and grounds. Wire brush them clean and use a liberal amount of dielectric grease on terminal ends.

Could it be fusable link on wire from alternator to batttery?? And does cranking amps matter... New one has less only 600 - old one had like 900?
