Won't start, no sound when key is turned

Asked by Rowe618 Dec 03, 2019 at 02:00 PM about the 2002 Ford Taurus SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 ford taurus se that I just bought a week ago.
It ran and started just fine up until a couple of days ago.
Drove into work, got ready to leave 8 hours later and car
would not start. Just silence when I turned the key.
Changed positive battery terminal, noticed that it was
loose and junk. Car still would not start. What is it?

Maybe test the alternator if its bad it’s not charging the battery hence the reason the car isn’t starting.
