Steering making whining noise

I had my powersteering pump replaced and now it's
making a whining noise all the time. It's easy to turn.

Check your power steering fluid level. It may be low. Also, look for foam in the fluid. If you see foam the system needs to be blead. To do this, top off the power steering fluid and leave the cap off. Start the engine. Slowly turn the steering wheel all the way to one direction, then all the way to the other direction. Keep doing this until the foam is gone. Top off the fluid as needed. This may take several minutes to get all the air out of the system. The last one I did was a 2001 Ford Taurus and it took about 15 minutes. So be patient and keep turning the steering wheel back and forth until the foam is gone. If that doesn't fix it the pump is probably defective. Hope that helps! Jim
