What is the drive cycle for a 2006 Ford Escape?
I replaced the O2 sensor (after catalytic converter) and the emmissions light is still on. I had it cleared at a shop and it came back on and was told to do a drive cycle. Help!
I'd get my own scanner that resets the trouble codes~ 22 bucks http://www.dailysale.com/can-obd-ii-car-engine-diagnostic-code- scanner.html? fee=10&fep=11771&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&scid =scplp11660639&gclid=Cj0KEQjw3Le4BRDxx5bk4aDn9t4BEiQAf mxQGW5Zwbz- KKyx6Ik9JRxwX18EQV0oVCGS7NQmPrgiQhsaAnMy8P8HAQ might be a loose fuel cap too~ reset your own with one of those~
ok link doesn't seem to work...but an OBD-II scanner....any make....like this one was 22 bucks~ will tell you exactly what component is givin' us trouble~
The code has been reset I need to do a "Basic drive cycle". Can't find one online.
yep...drive around the block...start the engine...warm up and drive around till 295 degrees (thermostat opens)...there is your drive cycle...nothin' fancy here~
If the light came back on that means that you have performed a "drive cycle" and the computer detected a fault. A p1000 code indicates that the computer hasn't checked all of the emission system components, the check engine light means that they have been checked and something wasn't right. A normal drive cycle is driving for several miles at operating temperature at varying speeds from 15 to 55 mph. this can take several trips and can be checked with any scanner. if it has a p1000 code the drive cycle isn't complete, a system pass message means that it has completed the drive cycle with no faults, and any other code means that there is still a fault.
perhaps you've overfilled the tank...you gotta stop at the first click...do NOT top off the tank....your Check engine light will come on...and a drive cycle to get air into the line instead of gas~
