Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced the O2 sensor (after catalytic converter) and  the emmissions light is still on. I had it cleared at a shop and it came back on and was told to do a drive cycle. Help!

The code has been reset I need to do a "Basic drive cycle". Can't find one online.

If the light came back on that means that you have performed a "drive cycle" and the computer detected a fault. A p1000 code indicates that the computer hasn't checked all of the emission system components, the check engine light means that they have been checked and something wasn't right. A normal drive cycle is driving for several miles at operating temperature at varying speeds from 15 to 55 mph. this can take several trips and can be checked with any scanner. if it has a p1000 code the drive cycle isn't complete, a system pass message means that it has completed the drive cycle with no faults, and any other code means that there is still a fault.
