02 6.0 vortec

Asked by Traperjohn Jul 29, 2019 at 10:39 AM about the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500HD LS Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 02 1500HD with a 6.0 in it.  I have replaced a
bunch of atuff on this truck from brake lines to pads and
rotors to calipers and oil pan gasket and of course the ever
famous water pump.  However, now I have coolant leaking
from an aluminum hose at the top of my radiator on the
drivers side.  When I call to get the part I am told there is
NO ALUMINUM hose that goes to my radiator so either I
am blind or I simply don't know what a radiator is

Ok, first of all I need to state that I am a female so please forgive me if I say anything stupid! Lol, but is this hose smaller in diameter? Smaller than the normal rubber fat ones? If it is this could be just a coolant line. Hopefully someone here can answer your question

Yes it is. It like a one inch smaller line located right under the rubber hose. When I look down there is one big rubber one and two small aluminum ones. One is close to the bottom of there radiator and one on top.

Is it a hard line with fitting and threads? Maybe your talking about the color of line when you say aluminum? A hose is a hose, where a hard line is different. There maybe transmission coolant lines that go to your radiator?
