New battery, and connections are good. I would suspect starter solenoid

I would suspect worn or dirty contacts in the ignition switch. Put a voltmeter on the small starter wire and see if you have voltage when the key is turned. If there is volts, bad starter. No volts, bad key.

a new starter is always good to have if over 100k miles anyway ,hammer on it with a ball pein ,shake the brushes down to armature, for temporary results ,,i do say temporary,,your ins. may have road service also i do and did not even know

My 2001 silverado V-6 does sort of the same thing. Most of the time it starts right up, but occasionally when I turn the key on all of the lights come on, as it is supposed to, but then when I turn to start, nothing. No clicking, no turn over, just nothing. Then I can try it a few more times and suddenly it will start right up. I've replaced the ignition switch, ignition solinoid, ignition module, battery, and fuses, but have had no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

It's either the starter relay or ignition relay. They're side by side in the fuse box under the hood

I've tried turning the key, still a clicking noise! What to do now?
